August 26, 2022

The Arvada Chamber of Commerce is committed to providing a fair and balanced Board of Directors nomination and selection process to support our effort to strategically represent our business community effectively through industry, size, diversity and experience.

The below process was followed:

  • The Chairman of the Board of Directors called for participants to serve on our nominating and selection committee. This opportunity was opened up to all members to apply. The committee is made up of two current board members, four general Chamber members and the Chamber President.
  • The committee evaluated a matrix to better understand the potential gaps and opportunities to support the diversity of the Chamber Board of Directors.
  • The membership in whole was notified of the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors.
  • Applications were collected and verified.
  • The Nominating and Selection Committee reviewed the applications and hosted phone interviews with all candidates for the board.
  • They have developed a recommended slate as outlined below:

Thank You Nominating and Selection Committee Members: Larry Barker (Sonsio, Board), Ed Rothschild (Alphagraphics, Board), Rena Schomburg (Schomburg Insurance Agency, At-Large), Colin Ferro (Epic Experience, At-Large),  Chaundra Tangi (Altitude Church, At-Large), and Mike Litzau (Arvada Sunrise Rotary, At Large)

Voting Board Members Serving A 3-Year Term

Masaru Torito, Kokoro
“The vision is that Arvada Chamber isn’t seen as group to reach out to, or a resource when needed, but really a necessary and helpful PARTNER in the success of a business. Just like a restaurant knows that it will have the health department helping guide them, and every business knowing they need good insurance, good marketing, good organizing, good leadership, it will also need a good partnership with the Chamber. A closer bond if you will with all businesses.”

Chris Adams, Thrive Workplace
“I believe that Arvada is a great city, but is struggling with a collision of old vs new ideas of what this city should be. I also believe the Arvada Chamber is one of the few organizations in Arvada that has the reputation strong enough to lead through this transition. Finally, I believe business in the community have the best opportunity to spur that growth on the broader scale. This positions the Chamber perfectly to connect, equip, support, and empower business leaders to build great businesses, develop great teams, and positively impact the city of Arvada.”

Lenka Juchelkova, Arvada Tavern / Kline’s
“My vision for the Arvada Chamber of Commerce is to help businesses in Arvada to strive during the many challenges brought on them during the pandemic. Healthy businesses mean a healthy community.”

Nathan Mudd, Legal Mudd / Arvada Farmers Market
“While I see the Arvada Chamber as the leader amongst the Chambers that are smaller than Denver, I believe the Chamber has not realized its potential in sharing that with Metro Business world at large. The current leadership is some of the strongest of the area Chambers, and I believe that its strategic partnerships can be grown to amazing heights that will allow the Arvada Chamber to offer even more successful programs. I would like to continue the work of evolving those relationships, and growing them to strengthen the up and coming workforce, whether they be high school, college, or post grad workers entering the workforce. I would also like to see even more devotion to local economic resiliency, keeping local dollars local through the food and beverage industry.”

Daisy Perez, On Tap Credit Union
“The Arvada Chamber is full of great individuals who are looking to make a difference in their communities. I feel that as we set up strategies we will be able to create a sustainable support system for our communities and small businesses.”

Alternates Serving A 1-Year Term

Kathryn Seehusen, Colorado Home Realty
“While focusing on BOLD and I think it is crucial small businesses in the community and new members are welcomed into the basic services and networking opportunities that the chamber has traditionally provided in a very upbeat and positive way. To remain committed to supporting local business while expanding and developing for the future.”

Rachel Bernstein, Sheikh RBS Law
“My vision for the Chamber is collaboration and innovation. I appreciate the BOLD initiative for the Chamber to move beyond just supporting and connecting members. Having already identified the biggest challenges facing the business community, I think the Chamber is well-equipped to tackle these issues head-on. I believe a collaborative and innovative approach will create a huge impact on the community.”
