B.O.L.D. Bites | Triad Bright Futures: Driving Community Collaboration to Solve Childcare Challenges

January 22, 2024

By Tess McShane, Director of Housing & Childcare

Triad Bright Futures is the new local coordinating organization (LCO) for Jefferson, Clear Creek and Gilpin counties with a mission to convene stakeholders and align strategies and resources across sectors to implement the Bright Futures Roadmap and Universal Preschool Colorado. The Arvada Chamber coordinates with community partners like Triad Bright Futures to help increase childcare capacity as part of our B.O.L.D. 2026 initiative.

Thanks to the incredible collaboration of local partners, our community’s LCO got off to a strong start in 2023! Below are two 2023 accomplishments from Triad Bright Futures.

Coordinated UPK by Supporting Providers and Families, Increasing Access to Quality Early Care and Education

The engagement from childcare providers has been tremendous in the first year of Universal Preschool (UPK). In our communities, 170 providers offered more than 4,000 seats in a variety of child care settings: school district, center-based and licensed family child care homes. The providers’ commitment ensured that nearly 4,000 three- and four-year olds in Jefferson, Gilpin and Clear Creek received funding to support their preschool education!

Renewed Energy and Commitment to the Bright Futures Roadmap

The Bright Futures Roadmap is a community-wide strategy to support the health and well-being of the youngest children and families in our community. This year, over 90 stakeholders from across 42 community organizations, including the Arvada Chamber, convened throughout 2023 to begin working on strategies that support increased access to high-quality childcare and early education, mental health consultation, parenting support, and developmental screening and referral.

In 2024, Triad Bright Futures will focus on increasing public awareness efforts around the importance of early childhood and continue creating opportunities for inclusive community engagement.
