By Kylie Parks, Arvada Chamber Director of Talent Pipeline Development

From all of the new policies in the pipeline, continuing partnerships, and events, the talent landscape continues to be abuzz with activity! Learn more below about the workforce policies at the state capitol and the Chamber’s continuing talent partnerships that influence and power workforce solutions.

Workforce Policies

At the beginning of April, the JCBL (Jefferson County Business Lobby) provided a Mid-Session Update. This highlighted policies in the pipeline throughout all of the Arvada Chamber’s policy pillars. Most of the workforce bills have been moving forward with ease and minimal opposition.

Continuing Partnerships

Our partnerships are the backbone of moving the B.O.L.D. 2026 Talent work forward. This past month we have had the opportunity to continue partnering with various partners throughout the Jefferson County and boarding regions. I have highlighted some key movements with these partnerships:

Colorado Succeeds Jeffco Blueprint – Created in partnership with the Colorado Gives Foundation, Arvada Chamber of Commerce, and Jefferson County EDC, Colorado Succeeds has developed a five-step blueprint for identifying, creating, and sustaining stackable pathways specific to Jeffco opportunity seekers. As mentioned in the article “In Jefferson County (Jeffco), this crippling skills gap is felt across construction and other skilled trades, advanced manufacturing, health care, and information technology, where the worker shortage is acute.” This blueprint aligns with the Talent Pipeline Management process we are leveraging within the Sector Partnerships, and allows others to support additional pathways work as they see fit.

Metro-West Advanced Manufacturing Alliance – As we continue to gather the MWAMA group we are continuing to move initiatives forward in Community Awareness and Talent Pipeline Management. In the Community Awareness group, the manufacturers are working to develop an event for Manufacturing Day in October.

We have also made headway with multiple manufacturers (including Sundyne, CEMCO, Well Master, TTM Tech, Kratos Ind., and Barber-Nichols) on supporting their talent pipeline with Machinists, Quality Inspectors, and Engineers. With the initial needs assessment, 300 positions between the three roles have been identified as a need to fill. Over the upcoming weeks, we will work to identify the capacity of workforce partners which can support these needs.

The next meeting will be hosted at Colorado Gives Foundation on May 14th from 8:30 am – 10:30 am.

Metro-West Construction Alliance

Motivated construction industry partners continue to convene regarding working towards solutions for permitting, and process improvement. We will be launching the Talent Pipeline Management cohort for this group this quarter.

The next meeting will be hosted at Colorado Gives Foundation on June 25th from 1:45 pm – 3:00 pm.

B.O.L.D. 2026 is a five-year regional economic strength and resiliency initiative of the Arvada Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber developed BOLD 2026 in consultation with private and public sector leaders and partners in Arvada, Jefferson / Adams Counties, Metro Denver and the state of Colorado. One goal of B.O.L.D. 2026 is to grow our talent to meet the needs of employers and job seekers.
