Arvada Chamber Releases Employer Childcare Toolkit to Help Parenting and Caregiving Employees

The Arvada Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Childcare KAPS Council – comprising over a dozen childcare partners and business leaders – is excited to announce the release of the Employer Childcare Toolkit. This comprehensive resource brings together regional, state, and national supports for Jefferson County employers to help their parenting and caregiving employees. According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, 53% of those working in the U.S. are parents, and 37% of those parents have young children. The lack of accessible and affordable childcare negatively impacts businesses and employers in several significant ways.

The Arvada Chamber’s B.O.L.D. 2026 Childcare Initiative seeks to increase childcare capacity to enable caregivers to join/rejoin the workforce, and give children the quality early learning experience they need to thrive. Having attainable childcare options within reasonable proximity to home and work is essential for businesses and the community to thrive.

The Employer Childcare Toolkit provides employers with practical strategies, resources, and insights to better understand the connection between workforce childcare challenges and business outcomes. The toolkit features diverse resources and opportunities for employers of all sizes and from different industries to identify tailored childcare solutions based on organization needs and culture. Employers can take a crucial role in providing solutions to disrupt the challenges experienced by parents and caregiving employees. By leveraging the tools and resources provided in this toolkit, regional employers can take proactive steps toward addressing the childcare challenges faced by their workforce.

Included in the Employer Childcare Toolkit:

  1. Data on Jefferson County childcare availability and accessibility
  2. How to identify an employee that is struggling with childcare needs
  3. Examples of family-friendly policies, practices, and benefits
  4. An overview of the Arvada Chamber’s Family-Friendly Workplace Certification Program
  5. Alternative childcare support programs and financial assistance supported by employers, including onsite and near-site childcare
  6. Information on local partner organizations seeking business collaboration and advocacy
