Why is the work of this KAPS Council important to you?

Housing is one of the top three barriers to self-sufficiency for the teen moms we serve at Hope House. It is so important that we stay connected to all of the important work in this area so that we can help more of our young moms find and maintain stable housing. It is also critical that we find avenues to support our employees, who are passionate about working in the nonprofit field, to find affordable housing in our community. Housing costs are a barrier to working in nonprofit and we have had team members leave the state in order to find more affordable housing.

We are collectively (businesses, government, and citizens) in a moment where we have the opportunity to affect change that will build and strengthen the community we love. Being a part of this Kick Ass group is a chance to invest time, money, and thought in to how Arvada continues to be a magnet community that honors our past and has a viable future.
