Arvada Young Professionals is the largest and longest-running network of Arvada professionals age 40 and under. Since 2011, AYP has helped young professionals make valuable local connections, learn from experts, and advance as leaders in the community and in their careers.
This year, AYP officially convenes on the second Wednesday of every month, with a social- happy hour on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
“As a member of the AYP, I’ve discovered a dynamic community that has enhanced both my personal and professional life. AYP offers a diverse network of like-minded individuals, providing opportunities for learning, collaboration, and meaningful connections. Interacting with this supportive and driven community has broadened my perspectives, exposed me to new ideas, and motivated me in my professional career. Through events and seminars, AYP has helped me develop valuable skills and improve my leadership abilities. I’m grateful for the chance to contribute to the organization and make a positive impact to my community.”
– Gabby Malara, Loan Officer at DNVR Lending
What’s a typical meeting like? The meetings start at 9:00 AM, but the “doors open” at 8:30 AM for people to network and settle in before the meeting begins. We’ve been using the wonderful Arvada Community Room in Olde Town, which has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Each meeting is hosted by a member, with light snacks for breakfast and fresh coffee.
Monthly meeting topics vary. Thus far in 2023, we’ve had a small business owner panel discussion, we’ve heard from leaders at the City of Arvada, and we’ve had a panel about preparing young people for successful futures through finance, estate planning, home ownership, and mindfulness.
The next six months of meetings will include speed networking, personality test training, and conversations on leadership and marketing.
“The Arvada Young Professionals Group has been instrumental for me to connect with colleagues in the business community to share different perspectives and learn about the challenges that our businesses face as well as opportunities to network in a fun and energetic setting!”
– Iza Petrykowska, Senior Economic Development Specialist at Arvada Economic Development Association.
The group is looking for any professional under the age of 40 that is looking to connect with others who may be experiencing similar work-life experiences. This group is not industry-specific, so businesses from any industry are welcome. We also welcome individuals who may not be tied to a business, if they’re looking to grow their network.
