The Greater Arvada Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Executives Partnering to Invest in Children (EPIC), Colorado Gives Foundation and key local and regional partners, have been engaging in a process over the last 1+ years to identify opportunities to increase childcare access in Arvada supporting workforce participation, economic development and community vitality.
We are excited to share the Advancing Local Solutions:Arvada Childcare Pilot Brief our partners at EPIC put together as part of this effort.
Highlights from the Brief
Why This Effort Is Worth Pursuing
Childcare challenges cost Jefferson County $200 million annually
What We Heard
- Childcare is essential workforce infrastructure
- Costs are unsustainable for families
- Supply falls far below demand
- Access depends on transportation and location
- Family childcare homes are critical but undersupported
- The opportunity is alignment
What’s Next
The pilot identified four practical opportunities capable of strengthening childcare while building upon Arvada’s existing partnerships and assets. (See the brief for details!)
The next phase focuses on advancing one implementation-ready childcare project by aligning community assets, partnerships, and financing around a shared vision. The brief already outlines potential sites and funding sources.
